The Hilpert Line in Ochsenfurt, Bavaria

The Hilpert line of Ochsenfurt is one of Franz X. Grunewald's paternal lines. With new records that have been found, we are now able to take our Hilpert line back 4 more generations, to 1655, in Ochsenfurt. We will backtrack a bit to show where and when the Hilpert line marries into the Grunewald line.

Franz X. Grunewald
1903 - 1985
|
Wendelin Grunewald
1871 - 1933
|
Wendelin Georg Grunewald
1823 - 1884
|
Wendelin Grunewald
1790 - 1842

It is with Wendelin Grunewald born in 1790 who marries Eva Godefrida Hilpert (1791 -1854) on April 17, 1820 in Frickenhausen that the Hilpert line becomes a part of our family line. The witnesses at their marriage were: Georg Kleinschmidt, a brick layer and Lorenz Dehner, a skipper by trade.

A brief history on Wendelin and Eva before we continue down the Hilpert line. Wendelin was born on March 8, 1790 in Frickenhausen. His occupation is listed on his marriage record as 'tailor' and he is listed as living at N.R. 65 in Frickenhausen. He died on November 2, 1842 at the age of 52 from 'exhaustion' according to his death record, and is buried in Frickenhausen. We know of 2 children that Wendelin and Eva had: Wendelin born in 1823 (which is our ancestor) and a brother named Georg born in 1827. We're sure there were more children but have not been able to locate records for them as of yet.

His wife, Eva Godefrida Hilpert was born November 13, 1791 in Ochsenfurt, Bavaria (Bayern), Germany. She died at the age of 63 on March 3, 1854 from 'lung inflammation' per her death record and is buried in Frickenhausen.

We will now continue back 4 more generations on the Hilpert line. The Hilpert's were of the Catholic religion and these records were found at St. Thelka Catholic Church in Ochsenfurt.

Eva's parents are
|
Konrad Hilpert and Katharina Barbara Wiederer
Konrad's occupation is listed as 'Barrel Maker.' We're assuming the barrels were for storing wine
|
Johann Martin Hilpert
born June 1, 1712 in Ochsenfurt - married Maria D. Kleinschrod on 9/11/1758
His profession is listed as 'Fischermeister' or 'Master Fisherman'
|
Johann Georg Hilpert
born September 4, 1681 in Ochsenfurt - married Anna C. Hennermann
Johann's profession is listed as a 'Hacker.' We have not been able to find out the translation yet.

Johann Georg Hilpert
born March 15, 1655 in Ochsenfurt - married Barbara (last name unknown)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
As far as the lines for the wives that the Hilpert men married, we have very limited information on Katharina Barbara Wiederer's line. We do not know her date of birth or death, but we do know that her father is Johann Georg Wiederer (Widerer) and her mother is Agnes Hehn. No other information has been found regarding her or her parents.

We have not found any information for Anna C. Hennermann or the line for Barbara (maiden name unknown) at this time.

Fortunately, we do have information on 4 generations of the Kleinschrod family line which I will write about soon. Stay tuned . . .
